FAQ WizardHono
About WizardHono
What is WizardHono?
WizardHono is a laboratory middleware platform that enables secure, automated communication between laboratory analyzers and healthcare software systems.
What problems does WizardHono solve?
WizardHono eliminates manual data entry, reduces transcription errors, automates analyzer communication, and helps laboratories improve efficiency through reliable system integrations.
When do laboratories need WizardHono?
If your laboratory spends time manually transferring results or struggles to connect analyzers with existing software, WizardHono is built for you. It automates communication between laboratory instruments and the systems your laboratory relies on every day.
Will WizardHono work with the software we already use?
While WizardHono is built to work seamlessly with WizardLab, it’s also designed to integrate with third-party LIS, LIMS, HIS, EHR, and other clinical software. That means you can modernize analyzer connectivity without replacing the systems your laboratory already rely on.
Connectivity & Integrations
Can WizardHono connect analyzers from different manufacturers?
WizardHono is designed to connect analyzers from a wide range of manufacturers. If you’re unsure whether your instruments are supported, our team can assess compatibility and recommend the best integration approach.
Does WizardHono support bidirectional communication?
Yes. WizardHono supports bidirectional communication, allowing laboratory systems to send orders to analyzers and automatically receive results without manual intervention.
Can WizardHono connect older or unidirectional analyzers?
Yes. WizardHono also supports unidirectional communication, making it possible to integrate older analyzers and instruments that do not support bidirectional interfaces. This allows laboratories to extend the life of existing equipment while modernizing their connectivity infrastructure.
What if our analyzer isn’t supported yet?
If your analyzer isn’t already supported, our integration team can develop a new connection. Our specialists have an average of more than 10 years of experience building laboratory analyzer integrations, and new integrations are typically completed within 7–14 days, depending on the analyzer and available documentation.
Do I need a separate WizardHono device for every analyzer?
Not necessarily. A single WizardHono device can support multiple analyzers. However, based on our experience, we generally recommend using one WizardHono device per analyzer as a best practice for maximum reliability, simpler maintenance, and easier future expansion.
Implementation & Support
How difficult is it to implement WizardHono?
WizardHono is designed for deployment with minimal disruption to day-to-day laboratory operations. Our experienced team handles the implementation in close collaboration with your laboratory staff, IT team, and any third-party vendors involved.
How does WizardHono pricing work?
WizardHono pricing is based on the number of connected devices and required integrations, allowing laboratories to scale the solution according to their operational needs. Explore our licensing options and pricing.
What kind of support can we expect after launch?
Going live isn’t goodbye—it’s where the real partnership begins. We’ll be there for software updates, technical questions, new integrations, and the occasional “Can you help us with this?” (The answer is yes.)
What level of support can we expect after implementation?
Our support goes beyond troubleshooting—we help keep your laboratory connected. Whether you’re adding a new analyzer, replacing existing software, or expanding your laboratory, we help ensure your integrations continue to work as your environment evolves.
